In the UAE, you are eligible after 1 year of continuous service. In India, for private sector employees, the minimum requirement is typically 5 years of continuous service, though there are exceptions for termination or death.
Are there any caps on the maximum gratuity amount?
Yes. In the UAE, the total gratuity cannot exceed two years of salary. In India, the current statutory limit is βΉ20 Lakhs, as per the 2018 amendment to the Act.
